He made his professional debut at the age of 13 and has since pioneered new frontiers in contemporary Latin and fusion music.
On February 8, 2026, he performed at the Super Bowl LX Halftime Show at Levi’s Stadium, playing percussion during Bad Bunny’s performance and sharing the stage with surprise guests Ricky Martin and Lady Gaga, contributing to a historic moment in Latin music history.
A pioneer of “City Pop Salsa,” Calderon fuses Japanese City Pop with Latin rhythms through his unique arrangements that reflect a deep respect for Japanese culture. The project is led by acclaimed U.S. percussionist, composer, and producer Willy Calderon, a key figure in today’s Latin music scene.
