Miki Matsubara made her debut in 1979 with “Mayonaka no Door~stay with me,” a song that would go on to become one of the most iconic city‑pop tracks worldwide. Trained in piano from an early age and inspired by jazz, she set her sights on a career in music. Following her debut, she released 17 singles and 10 albums, including cover projects, establishing herself as a distinctive voice in the Japanese pop landscape. Sadly, after a long battle with illness, she passed away in 2004, leaving behind a legacy that continues to resonate with listeners across generations.
