エンジニアとしてはWu Tang Clan から、ボストン交響楽団, ファイナルファンタジーXIVのゲーム音楽まで幅広い音楽ジャンルの録音とミックスを手がける。 市川愛/神奈川県藤沢市生まれ。5歳よりピアノ、バイオリンを始め、慶応義塾大学（環境情報学部）卒業後、ジャズやR&B、シティポップ等、アーバンなフィーメール・ヴォーカルに目醒め、2009年バークリー音楽院に奨学金を得て留学（2012 年に卒業）。 途中、交換留学制度によってギリシャへの滞在を期に旅を愛するようになり、これまでトルコ、イタリア、パレスチナ、イスラエル、ハワイ、フランス、ケニア等々、相反する文化や風土の国々に一人旅を行っている（40カ国以上に渡る）。
帰国後、JAZZ SINGERとして3枚のソロアルバムをリリース。 吉田美奈子や佐藤奈々子、尾崎亜美といった東京の女性AORやフォークのディーヴァ達を思わせるコケティッシュかつアンチ・ロリータな声質と歌唱法、ルックス等によって、タワーレコードの「いまどきのいい女」、「Tower Jazz Campaign」等で取り上げられ注目を浴びた。 ナレーターとしても、ユニクロやハインツのテレビCMなどで活躍中。
「機動戦士ガンダム／サンダーボルト」の劇中歌の歌唱、多くの訳詞も担当、ニューヨーク公演の参加を果たす。 2018年4月、日本語で歌う「市川愛」本来の姿で、音楽上のメンターでもある浜田真理子から楽曲提供を受け、菊地成孔プロデュースによりSONY Musicよりデビュー。今最も注目すべきアーバン・ミュージックの女性シンガー。
Artist Profile
He began his professional career in Japan as a keyboard player at the age of 14.
He is currently based in Boston, USA—the home of Berklee College of Music, from which he graduated—and has been running his own private studio in the city for over 15 years.
He also became the first Asian assistant professor in the Music Production department at Berklee College of Music.
Under three aliases—producer “Yuki Kanesaka,” multi-instrumentalist “monolog,” and beatmaker/DJ “U-Key”—he is active internationally, with a primary focus on the United States.
His work includes remixing artists such as Monday Michiru, N’Dea Davenport (The Brand New Heavies), Bootsy Collins, and Chaka Khan. He has also contributed to music for global brand campaigns as well as soundtracks for NHK and Netflix.
In addition, he has performed with artists including De La Soul, Slum Village, CeeLo Green, KRS-One, and Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers.
As an engineer, he has worked across a wide range of genres, from Wu-Tang Clan to the Boston Symphony Orchestra, as well as recording and mixing game music such as Final Fantasy XIV. Ai Ichikawa/Ai Ichikawa was born in Fujisawa, Kanagawa, Japan, and began studying piano and violin at the age of five. After graduating from Keio University, she developed a passion for jazz, R&B, and city pop, and went on to study at Berklee College of Music on a scholarship (graduated in 2012).
An exchange program in Greece sparked her love of travel, leading her to visit over 40 countries including Turkey, Italy, Palestine, Israel, France, and Kenya.
After returning to Japan, she released three solo albums as a jazz singer. With a coquettish yet anti-lolita vocal style reminiscent of Minako Yoshida and other Tokyo AOR/female folk artists, she gained attention through campaigns by Tower Records. She is also active as a narrator, appearing in commercials for brands such as UNIQLO and Heinz.
She performed songs for Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt and contributed lyric translations, later participating in its New York performances. In 2018, she made her major debut on Sony Music, produced by Naruyoshi Kikuchi with songs provided by her mentor Mariko Hamada.
She is regarded as one of the most notable female voices in contemporary urban music.

Information
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Grand Gallery label, a special single is set for release. From the 2015 City Pop–focused cover album LIME LIGHT by monolog + Ai Ichikawa, monolog delivers new Lovers Reggae remixes.
A double A-side featuring covers of Tatsuro Yamashita “PAPER DOLL” and Fishmans’ “Ikareta Baby.”
“Paper Doll” is an exclusive remix created for this single.
“Ikareta Baby” is also featured on Grand Gallery’s compilation Future Classic Lovers.
